how it works

The light energy of the photorejuvenation treatment reduces the brown pigment and redness in the skin. This light is converted into heat energy, which helps to fade those specific problem areas resulting in a more even, brighter complexion with less discoloration. IPL Photofacial has been performed for over 20 years, and there are many studies in the medical literature demonstrating true, anti-aging benefits. Treatments can reduce rosacea symptoms and make the skin looks and feel healthier.

Individuals who have had IPL Photofacial treatments once or twice a year over a decade have healthier more radiant skin with less skin cancer than those who do not have these treatments. Furthermore, for people who already have sun damage – IPL is a great tool to “turn back time” and reverse the damage that’s already been done!  The Icon IPL is one of the most effective and comfortable treatments with high energies and sapphire cooling.

  • 5-10 minute treatment. 30-60 minutes in the office.

  • A series of 3 – 5 sessions spaced 1 month apart until desired results are achieved with maintenance as required.

  • Wear sunscreen as part of your daily skincare routine and avoid sun exposure; a light exfoliation may be done on day four with ZO® Enzymatic Peel or a Hydrafacial to help removed the nutmeg granules left behind.
