how it works
Laser Hair Removal is a permanent reduction in the number and size of pigmented hair follicles. It takes 6-12 treatments depending on types of hairs and skin type to get over 80% clearance of the hairs. Most laser treatments are performed 4-8 weeks apart.
Laser hair removal permanently reduces hair by targeting the pigment in the hair follicle while leaving the surrounding tissues unaffected. Most patients can expect a significant reduction of 80% or better with the remaining hair becoming finer and softer after multiple treatments. The number of treatments depends on skin and hair type. You will want to arrive with the area freshly shaven and the treatment time can be anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes or more depending on the size of the area and pretreatment numbing.
-
10 minutes to 1 hour depending on the treatment area
-
Face: every 4 β 6 weeks
Body: every 6 β 8 weeks
-
Wear sunscreen and avoid sun exposure; a light exfoliation may be done on day four.

The target for the laser's energy is the hair follicle. In particular, it is the 'root' of an actively
growing follicle that must be destroyed in order to obtain long-lasting results. Because all hair
follicles are not in the growth phase of their life cycle, it is not possible to eliminate every hair
by this or any other hair removal system after a single treatment. On average, greater than 6
treatments are typically necessary to achieve the amount of growth reduction that is desirable.
Even with multiple treatments, however, there is no guarantee or proof that permanent hair
removal will be achieved.
