how it works

The areas to be treated are cleansed to be free from residue or oils, and an ultrasound gel is applied. The Ultherapy device is then applied to the skin, guided by an advanced ultrasound viewing feature to ensure the treatment is performed to the right depth for the area. Ultrasound energy is then delivered to the targeted regions. The sensation experienced is a series of quick, intermittent sensations of heat and tingling.

The applicator's placement on top of the skin heats the tissue below the surface triggers a healing response, signaling your skin to create fresh collagen. This skin on your face and neck will regenerate from the inside out, with no disruption or damage to the surface of your skin. You may see a degree of toning and firm of the skin following your treatment, but the full lifting and tightening effect occurs over time as your skin produces natural collagen, which continues for up to six months. 

Unlike lasers, radio frequency, surgery, and other technologies, Ultherapy PRIME® is the only FDA-cleared ultrasound with real-time imaging that allows your provider to go deeper to reach the right skin layers for your most beneficial treatment.

As a natural protein, collagen works to give skin its youthfulness by keeping it firm and toned. As we age, collagen breaks down, and the result is a loss of skin strength and elasticity. Ultherapy PRIME® works with your body's own collagen-building process for meaningful and natural-looking results that gradually unfold.

  • 1 to 3 hours

  • Dependent upon your skin concern and desired outcome. The average client repeats the treatment once a year or every few years for optimal results.

  • A post-treatment cream and skincare plan will be suggested for you to use for at least 3 days after the treatment.  Most patients are able to go back to all activities immediately after the treatment.  However, you may have some mild bruising and tenderness that can last 3-14 days.

  • Does it hurt?

    With a numbed face, the treatment feels like little more than light pressure to the face with an occasional zinging sensation. Typically, the numbing cream is applied 30 to 45 minutes prior to the treatment to ensure a comfortable patient experience throughout the treatment. Many testimonials from patients say they found the treatment to be in a range of comfortable to mild stinging. Pronox and our CBD Liquid can be used to decrease pain and anxiety.

    How long does the result last?

    Everyone is different, but the collagen and elastin you make is your own and continues accelerated production over the next six months as results improve over time. This persists and resets the clock. So it doesn’t stop the signs of aging but it has reversed it.

    What kind of skin does it work on?

    All skin colors and types can be treated, including fair, tanned skin and dark skin. Darker skin typically gets better results.
